And, you may ask, "how"?

To answer the first point - I work directly with artisans to get these beautiful jewelry sets made in various styles, themes and material. And since I source these from the artisans, I can offer these to my customers at very nominal prices - almost throw-away.

The second point - about how Gorgeous Karma is Green - each and every jewellery set in my store is handcrafted by the artisan. Nothing is 'mass manufactured'. That saves our precious ecosystem thousands of tons of pollutants. 

Infact, every set in my store is a one and only piece. Even I cannot get identical two pieces of the same jewellery. And like I said - that's because each is handcrafted by the artisan with certain colour and design specifications from me.

For me Gorgeous Karma is not just a business but it's my art, passion and an expression of creativity. My want the world to buy and wear the best of Indian jewellery at prices that they cannot get anywhere else.

But, there are thousands of options out there on the internet and just one keyword on google "indian jewellery" will throw hundreds of pages. SO, how does a discerning buyer make the decision? Who should he/she shop from and who to avoid?

Well, check for these basic points when buying costume jewelry online or offline:

1. First - the design - you don't want something that 10 other ladies will be spotted wearing in a party. It should be unique
   That's the advantage of wearing costume jewelry - you can afford a new design every once in a while. That's not the case with real gold or diamond jewelry
2. Second - the stone setting - it should be precise and neat
3. Third - the finish on the base metal. Many claim their jewelry to be 'gold plated'. But don't get carried away. There's a difference between "plating" and "polish". Plating is a thin 'micron' layer of actual gold electroplated on the jewellery whereas 'polish' is a mere colour. Some 'golden' costume jewellery may look very shiny and tacky. That's a sign about the quality.
4. The so-called semiprecious stones may just be plastic things coloured as 'ruby', 'emerald' or 'onyx'. Beware and look at the underside of the jewellery. The base of the plastic stones will be flat. Whereas, the quality stones will have their actual shape propping from underneath the base
5. To be able to know all these points, seller should display clear and close pictures of the jewelry. Or, there's no way to tell if what you are seeing is what you will get
